Katie & Kevin :: Engagement
This weekend.. the weather has been a little nutty. Originally, it was supposed to have rained today, Sunday, which was when we had originally scheduled our engagement shoot for Katie and Kevin. So, being the logical people that we are, we decided to move our session to Saturday. Unfortunately, (so we thought) the rain rerouted and decided to come a day earlier. But not earlier than us!! Although we were cut short at the very end of our shoot due to a little passing shower, we were able to take advantage of the yummy natural light of an overcast day! It is so ideal to shoot outdoors with lots of clouds in the sky.. no squinting, no harsh shadows, and no limited locations. AND, we also had the advantage of having Elizabeth Park almost exclusively to ourselves! I mean, who wants to come to a park on a cloudy-going-to-rain day!? I was so glad we decided to take our chances with the rain because it could not have worked out better!
Katie and Kevin we so adorable. I loved the way they matched and their natural pose and comfortability in front of the camera. I can’t wait to see them in their wedding gear!
I had a very hard time limiting my choices for this post.. because I want to show everyone all of them!!
Enjoy!

There was just not enough traffic in West Hartford to get that awesome effect I was going for. But.. here is a low-scale version!

Thanks to Wendi for all your help!

Lisa :: TTD
When Joe told me Lisa wanted to do a TTD… I jumped on it. We opted for an October shoot to showcase the awesome fall scenery. We actually started our shoot in a cemetery in White Plains. It was perfect. On our way to Lisa’s parent’s house, we took a detour and Wendi actually found this incredible mirrored building which gave us some exceptional photos. After, we headed to Lisa’s parent’s house. They actually have this old run-down pool house which we used for some of our photos. It was great.. there was a missing floor, walls down to the studs, and a really low roof for us to climb on! We finished our shoot at the beach… (we wanted Playland, but forgot that little detail about “closing for the season”). Lisa was such a trooper, showing no hesitation in going in the less than temperate waters of Long Island Sound!
But the photos speak for themselves. How beatuiful is this girl!?! I like to think of her look as Shannon Dorhety meets Cameran Diaz.

The Sones’!
Last weekend I had the honor of shooting family portraits for the Sones family. I’m sure your recognize the name Tania Sones from my blog entries referencing the many weddings that I have second shot for her. Tania is the absolute epitome of a kind-hearted person and a really talented photographer. I have been so blessed to have met her and learned from her!!
I loved meeting and hanging out with the rest of the Sones crew. Or should I say.. “the boys!”
Here are a few of my favs!

Special thanks to Dan for helping me out and tagging along!!

Chrissy & Kyle :: Newburyport Engagement
When I first started up my business… Chrissy emailed me and said “I can’t wait until I have something important for you to photograph!!” Well, she didn’t have to wait long because shortly thereafter, she was engaged. And very shortly after that.. she sent the “I want you to be the photographer at our wedding” email. I am so excited to work with Chrissy and Kyle for their wedding! I know them both from our days at Plymouth State. (woot woot!!) I also happen to know a lot of their bridal attendants and I know for sure.. that this is going to be one.fun.wedding.
So, back to the engagement session!! Wendi and I met Chrissy and Kyle in Newburyport, Mass. My first time. And it was the most quaint, cute, adorable, little town on the Massachusettes coast. We had an absolute blas with them! There was a lot of laughing and a few goofy pictures. (ok.. more than a few!) But we also captured a very loving and intimate side of the both of them.
OH- did I mention that Chrissy is my self-professed number one fan!!?? I am totally flattered. Chrissy Brown- I just love you! And I look forward to many more fun photo sessions!! I am going to put your dancing skill to good use for our Trash the Dress!!!

Max and Saywer :: Boothe Park
I love this family. Just love them. I’m sure by now, you recognize these two adorable faces. I have been watching Max and Sawyer grow so much over this past year… and will continue to keep you posted on them for years to come! For this session, we decided on Boothe Park in Stratford. What a gorgeous park! It was the perfect backdrop for our family shoot. Kristina’s one request was that they get a family shot which they could hang up in their living room. I think we may have taken care of that!!

Christine & Kevin :: Hawthorne Inn Wedding
Christine and Kevin are such a great mix.. an accountant and a poker player.. and couldn’t be more in love with each other.
The ceremony was held on the Weslyan campus in Middletown. The church was gorgeous. It had the most amazing organ I think I have ever seen. The ceremony was so special and unique with so many personal touches. Following a beautiful ceremony, they had a reception with a “poker” theme. Oversized playing cards marked the tables in leui of a traditional number. And favors were in the form of chocolate money chips.
It was such a blast shooting this wedding. :)
Congrats to Christine and Kevin!

thanks to wendi for helping out yet again!!

Tara & Jon :: The Wedding
Another rainy September day was forecasted for Tara and Jon’s big day… and rain it did. But not the whole day!
Luckily for Tara and Jon, they were blessed with a few opportunities of breaks in the clouds to get outside, get some photos, and just fully enjoy their day. Tara was a stunning bride in a traditional and breath-taking gown and Jon was the picture of carefree happiness.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple and the best of luck through all the years…

Diana & the baby belly
When I think high school, there is no memory without Diana. Eight years later, there is no more high school, but still a friendship. The minute I heard Diana was pregnant with her second little boy, I instantly thought “belly shots!!!.” Diana is so adorable with the cutest belly and a positively glowing face. Along with Xavier, who added an element of fun and spontaneity, we had a great time.
Next time we will have to get Dad in on this!!
Well, congratulations to your beautiful and growing family Diana. I can’t wait to introduce Parker to my camera!
