Dance Progressions :: Spring Recital

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Events — christabosco @ 1:54 am

Well, I had my first experience shooting a dance recital this past weekend.  I’m used to watching Lindsay’s recitals, shows, choreography, solos, duets, ect.. you name it.. BUT, it is quite a different experience watching the show through a lens.  I’ve always appreciated dance as an art form, but after seeing it through this different medium and studying the stillness and precision of each individual pose and formation.. I have a renewed admiration.  So here are a few of my favorites…

Caitlin and Evan :: The Boston Adventure

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Engagement — christabosco @ 1:30 pm

What an amazing time.  Caitlin and Evan are such a fun couple.  Wendi and I laughed and laughed the entire time with them.  I love that they were so comfortable and relaxed.. willing to do just about anything.  Some of the most memorable moments of the day….

-Kicking a couple off a bench to get a shot of Cailtin and Evan’s engagement proposal location

-Me calling a statue Paul Reveere when apparently, it was clearly George Washington according to the angry “expert” tourists who overheard me

-Mailboxes in 7-Eleven

-Doorways and more doorways

-Climbing a wall to get a shot (see photo in previous posting!)

-Caitlin’s crazy dentist story (moral of the story boys and girls:  research the house you are interested in buying… you never know what crazy nonsense was going on inside before you came to see it!)

-Swimming in a public fountain (not us of course!!)

-The adorable fun nature of Caitlin and Evan :)

Enjoy a little preview of our shoot!!

Weekend Preview

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Engagement — christabosco @ 11:59 am

I had a very busy and productive weekend! Wendi and I went to Boston to shoot an amazing engagement session with Caitlin and Evan to kick things off. Such a blast!  Then I drove up to New Hampshire to shoot two dance shows for Lindsay. All in all, I had a great time with everything and was very tired when I got home last night!!! It was a great kick-off to my summer! More of both of these shoots to come. For now, here’s a preview of a fun moment in Boston.

Thanks to Wendi who captured my craziness! :)

Pool Party!!!

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Personal — christabosco @ 12:28 pm

This is the summer that my grandma is getting the lining to the pool fixed.  It is has been weird to be able to walk into the pool now that it is emptied and liner-less.  As an experiment, my sister and I decided to take advantage of the unique space for a fun photo shoot!  (I had visions of a trash-the-dress session in the space…) It was actually really great!  The lighting, the background, the angle… all sweet.  Even though now, the liner has been replaced and we are actually able to swim… I will miss the empty pool! Must find another!! :)

Amy & Brett: The Wedding

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Weddings — christabosco @ 2:42 pm

Even though it was only June 7th… you would have thought it was August 7th .  Amy & Brett’s wedding fell right into the middle of a record-breaking heat wave in Connecticut.  I think we topped out at 97 degrees.  It was crazy!  BUT, despite the oppressive heat, everyone still managed to look great and have an awesome time.

What a beautiful place to get married!  The Goodwin in Hartford is such a beautiful venue both inside and out!!   Between the grand ballroom and  amazing architecture outside … a-mazing.   Too many favorites!!!

Duck Race!

Filed under: Christa Bosco Photography, Personal — christabosco @ 5:28 pm

Naugatuck had its third annual duck race this Sunday.  I went with my gram, sister, and nephew (little A-lo!).  It is so nice to have an excuse to just be outside in the gorgeous weather!  We all got a little color and you know what the coolest thing is?  My mom’s duck actually won a prize!!!  We are not sure what it is yet… but out of the 25,000 ducks??  How cool is that!?

Some “unofficial” ducks…

A-lo showing me his duck tat!

My dad was working the hot dog booth for the Elks.. but he took a break to visit with us.  (That is Angelo giving me a thumbs up.  I’m proud to say that I taught him that! :) lol
